I can offer you a safe confidential setting in which to talk about your concerns and support you in dealing with the issues you are facing. My model of working is Person Centred and Humanistic, which means that I work in a non-directive and non-judgemental way. I will work collaboratively with you to help you to find your way through. The space is yours for you to decide what you want to focus on at your own pace.
Stress, depression and anxiety are very common in today's world and these are areas on which I work with regularly. A great deal of my work with clients focuses on relationships. I have specialist experience in working with addictions, trauma and abuse, bereavement, abortion and fertility issues. I have worked with many people who simply need to reflect on the trials of modern living.
I offer long and short term individual therapy; my sessions are 50 minutes long. Most people see me on a weekly basis. We will continue to work together for as long as you need. Your needs in therapy will be unique to you and how long we see each other is dependent on this. Some people come to therapy on a short term basis and others find it more beneficial to remain in therapy for longer. Counselling and Psychotherapy offers you a space to explore any issue that are troubling you.
I have 20 years of Counselling and Psychotherapy experience, working in the NHS, voluntary and statutory services and private practice. I am currently also a Senior Clinician in a London based addictions service.
I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and MBACP which means that I subscribe and adhere to their code of ethics. More information relating to this can be found on the BACP website.
I respect and celebrate diversity and value each individual as a unique human being; I aim to understand you from your own perspective.
Please telephone me if you have any questions, or would like to find out more about my way of working before deciding to book an initial session. People often feel anxious about the first meeting and it can help to relieve the anxiety by speaking on the telephone beforehand.
By considering therapy you have already taken the first step to helping yourself to make positive changes, be brave and take the next step. Whatever’s troubling you I will not see as too big or too small or too small to bring to therapy.
